First Home Service Visit – Grace Lutheran ~ Henderson, NV

This past weekend I launched Home Service activities officially with a solo visit to the folks at Grace Lutheran in Henderson, NV. While we aren’t able to visit every congregation we’d like to on every Home Service, Grace has been a regular spot for me to visit and this time they were as welcoming and curious as ever.

Of course, being a writer rather than a photographer, I neglected to get pictures. Trust me though, it was great. It was also LWML Sunday and it was good to be with them as their LWML has partnered with me in support of deaconess training in the Philippines. In between their two worship services I had the opportunity to share a bit about the changing nature of my work in Asia, and answer their questions.

The five hour drive from Phoenix to Henderson went smoothly. The desert was particularly beautiful in it’s starkness. It’s nice to be back in the US, even if it’s very different from the steamy jungle environment of Indonesia and most of Asia.

Many thanks to Grace Henderson for your hospitality!
