Somebody Else’s Conference

I’ve been to my share of conferences over the years. When I was younger I imagined such events were exciting, and I’ve learned in the growing years since that this is not often the case, and that there are other descriptors besides exciting that might be worthwhile.

Today I was invited to sit in on the beginning of a pastor’s conference for the Puget Sound area of Washington State. A brief worship service and then we were into the thick of it. During the first break I was introduced, said a few words about myself and offered to talk with anyone interested in knowing more. I was also able to leave some of our information packets that might be helpful to those who are curious but wary of getting into an actual conversation.

I trust the rest of the conference will be edifying both intellectually as well as socially for those gathered together at Concordia Lutheran Church, Whidbey Island, WA.
