One of the special blessings of this particular trip back to the US was the opportunity to officiate at a wedding. Of all the different types of services I’ve done in the ministry, I’ve probably done fewer weddings than anything (other than confirmations). And this was a special opportunity – to do the wedding for a young woman I confirmed 13 years ago or so. Those opportunities don’t pop up every day, so when she asked if I’d be willing, we worked to find a time that overlapped with our visit back.
Today was the rehearsal up in beautiful Santa Ynez, California, about 30 minutes north of Santa Barbara. Picture-perfect evening with a stunning sunset and a light breeze. It’s going to be a beautiful day tomorrow! But first, a great rehearsal dinner tonight!
