Good News and No News

The good news is three-fold. The first part is that I’ll be catechizing James in Kuala Lumpur towards baptism, and will be able to bring him the Eucharist as I’m passing in and out of KL on future trips. That’s very exciting, and I think a relief for James who has struggled as to where to plant himself and entrust with his baptism.

The second part is that one of the Singapore group I work with has participated for years but not been catechized fully into the LCMS. He’s just affirmed that he wants this so I will complete this process and he’ll be able to receive the Eucharist on my monthly Word & Sacrament visits to Singapore. That will bump to four the number of communicant folks in Singapore – Praise God!

The third piece of good news is I’m connecting an LCMS spouse in Okinawa to my Tuesday night theological Zoom sessions. Her husband serves in the Marines and I was able to meet them in April. She’ll be joining just in time for us to begin an in-depth study of the Gospel of Mark next week.

Exciting times! The Holy Spirit is at work! Keep up your prayers and thank you for your constant support!

The no news is that we were supposed to go to immigration today to finalize my work visa, but the contact person with our partner church has not contacted me or responded to my inquiry. Something apparently came up to divert him. Please pray that all is well for he and his family and that we’ll be able to get this finished up tomorrow if not today!

  1. Praying for the partner church person to come through for your work visa. Satan, STOP trying to steal their joy! Lord, I know you know their needs. Prayers abound, Lisa
