Back to Base

We finished in Minnesota and after dinner with a friend and former colleague, headed back to Arizona. Our travel was fantastic and we’re so glad we got to see everyone we did. It never feels like enough time, but simultaneously it seems like an eternity. Traveling is rarely just a matter of distances, it also involves time both in the objective sense (whatever that means) and the subjective sense. There’s what the calendar and the watch says has passed in terms of hours or days, and there’s what it feels like. Strange!

Once back in Arizona we began finalizing some housing arrangements for our boys. They’ll live together for the next year or two as they get their feet under them and figure out what their next steps are. They’re excited about that. After we finish our next major leg of travels in early May they’ll start applying for jobs. It’s an exciting time of life but there are also lots of uncertainties.

The weather in AZ is heating up. Not as bad as it’s going to be of course, but it’s markedly warmer than when we departed earlier in the month. The kids will get a taste of what I lived with for nearly 20 years! That seems fair!

Thankfully we have remained healthy through this first leg of travels as well as all the work we are trying to accomplish personally. God is good, and thank you for your prayers!
