Chicago

As we were publicizing our impending Home Service through our newsletters, I was contacted by another former classmate from seminary. Rev. Michael Brown and I have remained in good contact through the years and have even managed to meet up at a few conferences along the way. He invited me to preach at his congregation, St. Matthew Barrington, so we rented a car in St. Louis on Friday and drove up to Chicago.

Saturday we were able to see a little of the city between appointments. Sunday I presented on the LCMS’ work in SE Asia and preached. Nobody threw anything (whew!) so that’s always a good sign. We enjoyed a meal together Sunday evening before we hit the road Monday for the 8-hour drive to Mission Central in Iowa.

What a blessing to connect with more old friends as we make our way through the Midwest!
